Strong Q2 show helps rlys post positive revenue in passenger segment for first time this FY

New Delhi, Oct 21 (PTI) For the first time in the current financial year, the railways' earnings in the passenger segment have come out of the red by recording a second-quarter revenue of Rs 2,325 crore, an RTI query has revealed.

In the first quarter, for the first time in its 167-year-long history, the Indian Railways refunded a higher amount of money than what it earned from ticket bookings, registering a negative passenger segment revenue of Rs 1,066 crore, the query filed under the Right to Information (RTI) Act has found.
